Creating a Migration Trace from Within Flex2SQL

In this article we will explain how to create a migration trace to troubleshot problems:

  1. Just before the copy data action go to menu Tools > Preferences

  2. Select "Reports" Tab

  3. Check "Enable Migration Logging"

  4. Make sure that the detail level is at least "Debug" (it gets very noisy above that level)

  5. Then save yourself some time, right click on the filename and select "explore" so that you can easily open the logfile afterwards.

  6. Press OK to close the dialog and activate the logging facility

  7. Now process your data as in: Select your tables and process them.

  8. Afterward go back to Preferences and uncheck the checkbox for "Enable Migration Logging"
