Downloaded File Tagged by Norton as "Unproven Trust"

Users may be alerted by Norton that the trust level of a downloaded file (for example, a driver) is “Unproven” because there is not enough information available to verify the file:

Norton Unproven Trust Msg

Since the file is signed, it is trusted by Norton. However, it is also tagged as “Unproven” because even though hundreds of users may have already downloaded the file, that number may be less than considered by the Norton community as proof.

Users can safely ignore the “Unproven Trust” alert from Norton when downloading files from Mertech.
