Flex2SQL v12 - Call to Beta

Mertech will be releasing a beta of v12 of Flex2SQL driver suite on Sept 5, 2012.

Starting with v12, all our drivers will follow a consistent new versioning system common to all the drivers. The new versioning will incorporate product build numbers and wwill be tied to our internal product building and testing processes.

While there have been enhancements across all the drivers, a major enhancement in v12 is extending the support for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Edition, making it easier for developers to deploy solutions with LocalDB. Other updates include:

  • All Drivers: Unified product version numbering for the installed Flex2SQL GUI and all drivers
  • Better handling of database context switching
  • All Drivers: Support for all new features in VDF 17
  • All Drivers: A new runtime maintenance utility that makes it easier to install drivers across multiple versions of VDF
  • All Drivers: Performance improvements, especially when dealing with database context switching among others
  • PostgreSQL: BLOB support in PostgreSQL driver (already available in other drivers)
  • MS SQL Server: Better support for handling multiple result sets with ESQL and stored procedures
  • All Drivers: Improvement in relationship synchronization feature in Flex2SQL GUI tool
  • Other bug fixes and improvement in existing functionality

Full details will be available in the product release notes. If you would like to participate in the beta, please contact Mertech technical support to be added to our beta list.
