Flex2SQL Version 12.1 Beta Now Available

Mertech Data Systems, the leading provider of high-performance ISAM to SQL Database Connectivity (ISDBC) drivers, is pleased to announce the release of the beta version of Flex2SQL Version 12.1, which will have a significant impact on how developers use Flex2SQL drivers in their environments.

Version 12.1 provides transparent integration with Microsoft's Windows Azure SQL Database, giving customers yet another option for deploying applications based on the Microsoft SQL Server database.

The new version also offers a new class layer that allows developers to use the VDF Embedded SQL package, and developers will now be able to use server-side generated Universally Unique Identifiers (UUID’s) or Globally Unique Identifiers (GUID’s) as primary keys, which was not previously possible within VDF. Version 12.1 also offers support for the latest failover and database mirroring in SQL Server, more control over how auto-reconnect is handled, an improved, unified interface for calling stored procedures for all drivers, and many more improvements to performance and documentation.
