Mertech Announces Release of BTR2SQL v5.2

Adds support for MS SQL 2014, LocalDB, Oracle 12c and PostgreSQL 9.4

Mertech Data Systems, the leading provider of high-performance middleware technology, is pleased to announce the release of v5.2 of BTR2SQL for Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.

BTR2SQL allows applications utilizing Btrieve and Pervasive transactional interfaces to work with mainstream relational databases with minimal or no source level changes. BTR2SQL v5.2 contains a number of new  features and enhancements, some of which are listed below.

  • New DBMS version support: Formal support for MS SQL 2014 and MS SQL LocalDB along with support for Oracle 12c, PostgreSQL 9.4 and MySQL 5.7.
  • New ATTACH and DETACH database functionality were added to support locating and attaching MS SQL LocalDB database files during the migration process.
  • New MdsMigrateFile command line tool allows migration of Btrieve/Pervasive data to an SQL backend without requiring DDFs. Migrating data files without DDF puts the entire record in a LOB field and only fields comprising index segments will be available to other applications using the SQL backend.
  • MigrateUniPaaSData has been improved to help migrate Magic UniPaaS based Btrieve data.
  • New API: MdsSetSetting and MdsGetSetting will let programmers set global settings in the mds_global.ini
  • New API: B_RENAME_FILE and B_DELETE_FILE are now supported. B_RENAME_FILE renames the local INT file and B_DELETE_FILE deletes the local INT file and drops the table from the server.
