Mertech Releases BTR2SQL for PostgreSQL Beta

Pembroke Pines, FL

Mertech Data Systems, the leading provider of high-performance middleware technology, is pleased to announce the availability of the beta version of BTR2SQL for PostgreSQL. BTR2SQL for PostgreSQL allows users of Btrieve/Pervasive transaction engines to use PostgreSQL database without requiring source level changes. The product is available for immediate download. BTR2SQL for PostgreSQL will be Mertech’s second middleware solution, the first one being Flex2SQL For PostgreSQL for the DataFlex market.

"PostgreSQL is the only truly open source database available under the limited GPL license model. The ability to deploy an enterprise class database without licensing cost is a compelling option for vertical market application developers”, said Riaz Merchant, Mertech CEO. “We are seeing an increasing trend among ISVs to adopt PostgreSQL”.

PostgreSQL has more than 15 years of active development and a proven architecture that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability, data integrity, and correctness. It runs on all major operating systems, including Linux, UNIX (AIX, BSD, HP-UX, SGI IRIX, Mac OS X, Solaris, Tru64), and Windows.
