Mertech Releases Flex2SQL v12

Mertech is pleased to announce the release of Flex2SQLv12. Flex2SQL v12 has support for VDF 17 long file name support in the GUI migration tool, BLOB support in PostgreSQL driver, a new installer and a Support Utility to help you manage driver deployment across various versions of VDF. v12 also allows longer file and field names and provides seamless support for DataFlex applications with MS SQL Server 2012 LocalDB edition, which was included in Microsoft’s release of SQL Server 2012 earlier this year.

For customers that haven’t previously been able to take advantage of applications that require SQL Server capability, such as Crystal Reports, LocalDB is the solution. With the LocalDB and Flex2SQLv12 combination, developers of DataFlex applications can now install their product at a single-user site or provide an easy download method for their clients, which was not possible without local DB and Flex2SQLv12.

In addition to the new features, we have also improved our help documentation, combining all separate product documentation into one single .CHM file which is now accessible from the Visual DataFlex Studio.
