Using Flex2SQL for MySQL 9 in VDF 14.1

VDF 14.1 includes a new database management tool that is compatible with our drivers. But in VDF 14.1 there is an error in the XML configuration file that ships with the default installation of VDF 14.1, that error will crash Studio.exe. Here is a workaround of that problem:

Only if your driver is version 9.1.4.1 or older [1] you'll need to make a change the XML configuration file located in the VDF runtime "Bin" directory (usually C:\Program FilesVisual DataFlex 14.1Bin), the XML file is named mdsmysql_DriverDef.xml.

Look for this code segment (about line #120):

<driverAttribute>

<name>DF_FILE_USE_ROWCOUNT_IN_TRANSACTIONS</name>

<id>628</id>

<type>boolean</type>

</driverAttribute>

Delete or comment (<!-- and --> to comment in XML) that part of the code.

You should now be able to continue working in VDF 14.1 with Flex2SQL for MySQL.
