Pembroke Pines, FL – Mertech Data Systems, a global provider of application modernization tools and services, is pleased to announce that it has earned Microsoft Gold competency status in Cloud Platform.

Gold competency is Microsoft’s highest level of partner certification. It’s reserved for the top one percent of Microsoft elite partners worldwide that have demonstrated expertise and proven skills with a particular Microsoft technology or service.

To achieve Gold status, a partner has to demonstrate competency by having at least two employees pass the certification exams and driving at least $100,000 per year in Azure consumption revenue.

“We are in the application modernization business,” said Riaz Merchant, CEO of Mertech. “Our tools already help companies modernize their databases and applications, and our cloud services help companies transition to cloud computing. The Gold Competency status is a validation of our expertise on Azure and opens up new opportunities for Mertech to expand its products and application modernization services in the Microsoft ecosystem.”

Mertech has extensive experience in helping companies transform their monolithic Windows client/server applications into API-driven architecture that can then be run either as services on a cloud platform, like Microsoft Azure, or in a hybrid cloud scenario. Mertech provides services including API development, user experience design, front-end development, and cloud infrastructure management and security.

Gavriella Schuster, corporate vice president, One Commercial Partner (OCP) at Microsoft Corp., said, “By achieving a Gold Competency, partners have demonstrated the highest, most consistent capability and commitment to the latest Microsoft technology. These partners have a deep expertise that puts them at the top of our partner ecosystem, and their proficiency will help customers drive innovative solutions.”
